Head Coach Randy Mearns and his staff gathered together 52 players over the weekend for a camp that will go a long way towards determining who will comprise Team Canada for the 2014 FIL World Field Lacrosse Championships in Denver next summer. Among those players, 39 are National Lacrosse Leaguers and several more will be high picks in upcoming entry drafts. The players were split into two teams, Canada Red and Canada White, to take on a trio of American college clubs. On Saturday they faced off against the University of Denver and Sunday they played Robert Morris University and Canisius College. I was on hand to watch the Denver and RMU scrimmages and report on them for our sister site, Inside Lacrosse.
