As the lacrosse summer leagues gear up for the playoff and an eventual run for the Mann Cup, CalgaryRoughnecks.com will check in with all of our players across Canada over the next few days. Today, we check in with a man apart of the biggest blockbuster trade out west this season.

Dane Dobbie

It was part way through the regular season when Dobbie was dealt away from the only organization he knew in the summer. After six years with the Coquitlam Adanacs, he was traded to the Langley Thunder in a move that also involved former Roughnecks netminder Nick Rose.

Langley was in a dogfight for top spot in the WLA, and that July move, along with a few others, pushed the Thunder over the edge for first place.

Dobbie, for his part, was the top scorer in Langley, combining 29 goals and 33 assists for 62 points in 15 games. That was good enough for eighth spot in the entire WLA.

He’ll face off against the very same Adanacs in the playoffs starting Thursday night.

Peter McFetridge

The long-time staple in the transition game for the Calgary Roughnecks spent his third campaign with the Burnaby Lakers.

As one of just three Riggers on the roster, the 27-year-old scored four goals, and added five assists for nine points.

Greg Harnett

The Harnett brothers became a dynamic duo on the backend for the Roughnecks this season – why not do the same thing for the Victoria Shamrocks?

Greg was already playing for Victoria this season, and a mid-season trade involving Jon Harnett brought the brothers back together in the provincial capital.

The Shamrocks ended up in second place in the WLA, and took Game 1 of the best-of-seven series against the Burnaby Lakers on Wednesday night.

Darren Kinnear

As a practice roster player, Kinnear has yet to see regular season action with the Roughnecks, but he joined McFetridge with the Lakers this season.

He was only able to play in eight games, but still managed to snipe five goals for Burnaby. He also saw action in the faceoff circle.

Aaron Pascas

Teaming up with (Superman) Curtis Dickson on the Maple Ridge Burrards, the 26-year-old Pascas was a solid performer.

In ten games, he scored six goals, added four assists for 10 points in 10 games.

The team ended up on the outside looking in when it came to the playoff race.
