SCOUTING THE STEALTH
A look at the Roughnecks opponent on Friday night, the Vancouver Stealth

The Vancouver Stealth are going into the contest against the Roughnecks on Friday as a well-rested group.

They had the week off after playing a hard fought match against the undefeated Edmonton rush the week before and were edged 10-9 at Rexall Place, a game which they let a two-goal fourth quarter lead get away.

Stealth head coach Chris Hall felt the week of rest is just what his club needed to regroup and work on the offence, which has struggled as of late.

“Obviously we need some wins in our organization,” Hall said. “They’ve been tough to come so far for us. The week off probably has done us a bit of good in terms of refocusing and trying to figure out how we’re going to get some wins out of us and how we’re going to produce a bit more offence which has been a bit stagnant for us.

“The guys will be pretty anxious to get back on the floor this weekend.”

Despite having some of the top snipers in the NLL in Rhys Duch, Lewis Ratcliff and Tyler Digby, Vancouver has scored just 121 goals this season in 11 games averaging out at 11 goals per game, which is near the bottom of the league. Ratcliff said his side of the floor needs to pick up the pace to make them tougher to defend.

“We’ve just got to put a couple more balls in the net. It’s on us to kind of pick our game up,” he said. “Hopefully we can come out and have a good one.

“It’s up to us on the left side to match their output, It’s tough to score. You definitely need a full team to score.”

Three Players to Watch

1.  Rhys Duch: One of the most danerous sticks in the National Lacrosse Leaue, Duch has a knack for finding the back of the net, especially when he's parked on the crease. The 27-year-old is tied for eiht in the NLL for goals with 24, in just 10 games.

2.  Tyler Richards: His five losses might not show it, but he’s having another one of his seasons between the pipes. There is a reason why he’s considered one of the top goalies in the circuit.

3.  Lewis Ratcliff: The Former Rigger isn't havin his best season but, as Roughneck fans can attest to, he still remains one of the top outside shooters in the game, and he's sure to have a breakout game in the near future.
