With the Roughnecks season over, the boys aren’t yet ready to put their sticks down.

A majority of Calgary’s roster will be participating in summer lacrosse. The Riggers will see numerous players and a coach put in work in the Western Lacrosse Association with the Maple Ridge Burrards, Langley Thunder, and Burnaby Lakers.

Staying in the West, one young Roughneck has already returned to junior, where he is representing the Coquitlam Adanacs.

Out east, the Riggers players will be spread out over five teams; the Oakville Rock, Peterborough Lakers, Six Nations Chiefs, Brooklin Redmen, and the Brampton Excelsiors.

A trio of Riggers will even head down south and participate in some field lacrosse action with the Major Lacrosse League.

Remaining in Calgary, forward Dane Dobbie will not be playing summer lacrosse, but rather, he will be passing on his knowledge as a coach for Team Alberta Lacrosse Midget Boys. Also staying in town is face-off man Bob Snider, who will be coaching with the ELEV8 Lacrosse program. Captain Mike Carnegie and younger brother Scott will not be playing summer lacrosse.

Jeff Shattler and Chad Cummings have not yet confirmed if they will be playing this summer. Shattler spent the summer of 2016 with the Victoria Shamrocks, while Cummings played out East for the Cobourg Kodiaks.

As the summer rolls on, we will provide you with monthly updates on how all of our players are doing with their respective summer clubs.
