Roughnecks Got Talent

Bring your talent to the Rough House! Calling all musicians, dancers, magicians, comics, ventriloquists and more! 

We are looking for local Calgary talent to provide halftime entertainment at our games. Take part in our Roughnecks’ Got Talent competition for your chance to perform live at the Saddledome in front of 12,000+ fans at one of our 2019/20 games. We are looking for acts and performers who are entertaining, creative and have a strong stage presence. If you or someone you know fits this description, we want you!

Grand Prize Winner Package:

Competition Rules

Online Submissions

Online submissions will open at 10:00 AM on August 15, 2019 and will be open until 5:00 PM on September 27, 2019. All individuals and groups who are selected to move onto the preliminary auditions will be contacted after September 27 with details for the next phase of the competition.

Act Exceptions

Any act that could be dangerous to performers, support staff or the audience will not be accepted. In addition to dangerous acts, acts that do not cater to a family friendly environment will also be overlooked. Judgement on whether an act is deemed dangerous or inappropriate will be left up to the discretion of the panel of judges. 


Eligible participants must be 15 years or older (as of August 15, 2019). Individuals or groups under the age of 18 will need to provide proof of parent/guardian consent.

Numbers of members allowed per act

Group acts may not exceed 30 members.

Act Time Restrictions

Video Submissions: All video submissions will be limited to 5 minutes in length.

Preliminary Auditions: If you are selected to move on in the competition, all performances must be NO LONGER THAN 8 minutes in length. These time constraints pertain to the amount of performance time that groups will have during our halftime shows should they be selected for this part of the competition. Performance timing will include setup and take down.

Roughnecks’ Got Talent Winners

Roughneck’s Got Talent Winners cannot compete in future Roughneck’s Got Talent competitions after they have won. These individuals and groups may be invited to perform in future halftime shows and post-game parties as a winner of the Roughnecks’ Got Talent competition.


  1. How will I find out if I have been selected for the Preliminary Auditions?
    • You will receive a phone call from the Calgary Roughnecks if your video submission is selected for our Preliminary Auditions. Details for the Preliminary Auditions will be provided to you when you are contacted about moving onto this phase of the competition.
  2. What can I do if I have a question?
  3. How will my video submission be judged?
    • Your video submission will be reviewed by our panel of judges. We will be looking for entertaining, creative acts that have a strong stage presence.
