CALGARY, AB — The Calgary Roughnecks today announced their 20-player active roster for the 2016 National Lacrosse League season.
The roster includes 13 players from the 2015 campaign and seven new players in forward Tyler Digby, acquired from the New England Black Wolves, and 2015 draft picks Wesley Berg (first round, fourth overall), Reilly O’Connor (first round, seventh overall), Mitch de Snoo (second round, 13th overall), Christian Del Bianco (second round, 15th overall), Tyson Bell (third round, 24th overall) and Kellen LeClair (third round, 25th overall).

Fans will have an opportunity to see the 2016 lineup on Sunday, Dec. 20, at the Roughnecks Holiday Party Showcase featuring a pre-season game against the Vancouver Stealth at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The event opens at 12:00 p.m. with Select-a-Seat, providing fans with an opportunity to view the best available seat locations, receive a complimentary photo with Santa and enter to win prizes including a team-signed Roughnecks jersey. The showcase continues at 2:00 p.m. with the Roughnecks-Stealth exhibition matchup. Fans attending are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for KiSS 95.9’s Toy Angels in support of the Salvation Army’s Family Assistance Christmas Program. All toys collected through this initiative will be donated to deserving families over the holiday season.

Calgary opens the 2016 NLL regular season at home against the defending champion Saskatchewan Rush (formerly Edmonton) on Saturday, Jan. 2, at 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Roughnecks tailgate party returns for all home games, giving fans the opportunity to Come for the Party & Stay for the Game as Dutton’s Lounge and the Chrysler Club open two hours before faceoff and remain open following the game.
