The Rough House brought the noise, but the night was spoiled by the Buffalo Bandits as they took down the Roughnecks 13-7 on their home opener.

The Riggers had 11,715 screaming fans who showed out, while Tyler Pace continued his hot play with five points on the night.

THE NUMBERS:

Tyler Pace – 5 pts (2G, 3A)

Tanner Cook – 3 pts (2G, 1A)

Brayden Mayea – 3 pts (3A)

Aden Walsh – 39/52 saves

The local product, Harrison Matsuoka got the evening started off a nice dish from Pace to put the Riggers up early.

Nick Weiss and Clay Scanlan answered back to take the lead until Weiss scored his second of the night to extend the Bandits lead to 3-1.

The defending champs closed out the first quarter with a 4-0 scoring run topped off by Tehoka Nanticoke to stretch the lead to 4-1.

The Riggers capitalized on a power play opportunity in the second quarter when Pace sniped home his first of the evening on the man advantage to cut the lead to two.

Pepper ripped home his second of the season in transition and Cook followed him up to tie the game at four.

Scanlan added another tally to give the Bandits a one-goal lead heading into halftime.

The Bandits opened up the scoring in the third but quickly had it erased when Haiden Dickson sniped home his first of the night to snip the lead to 6-5.

Buffalo then went on a three-goal run started by Ian MacKay and Dhane Smith. Kyle Buchanan got the third from a behind-the-net dunk attempt to take a four-goal lead at 9-5.

Pace stopped the bleeding with a beautiful bar down snipe for his second goal of the night.

Dhane Smith responded with a pair of goals just a minute later for a second half hattrick. Veteran Ryan Benesch jumped onto the score sheet with his first goal of the night to extend the Bandits lead to 12-6.

Cook scored his second goal of the game, but the Bandits got one back to hold their lead at six and ultimately win the game.
