The Roughnecks fell 19-9 to the Georgia Swarm at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Saturday.
Veteran forward Lyle Thompson led the way with four goals and six assists for the Swarm (3-3) during the NLL “UnBOXed Series” game that welcomed professional box lacrosse back to Edmonton for the first time in more than a decade.
Tanner Cook had a six-point outing for the Roughnecks (1-5) in the first-ever professional lacrosse game at Rogers Place. Tyler Pace chipped in with two goals, including the 150th of his NLL career, and two helpers.
Aden Walsh started in net for the Riggers before Cam MacLeod took over and played the second half of the game.

The Swarm jumped out to a 6-0 lead before Cook wired a sidearm shot to the short side past Georgia goalie Brett Dobson with 1:55 remaining in the first quarter.

Dickson fired an outside shot through traffic past Dobson just 22 seconds into the second quarter.
The Swarm counted the next seven goals to build their lead to 14-2 before Brayden Mayea and Pace scored for Calgary in the third quarter.
The Riggers outscored the Swarm 5-3 in the final frame as Cook scored twice to complete his hat trick, while Riley Loewen, Mayea and Pace also found the back of the net.

The Roughnecks will return home to face the Saskatchewan Rush on WestJet Field at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, Jan. 30. The Indigenous Celebration game gets underway at 7 p.m.
