Let’s get to know defender Brayden Laity!

Laity, 22, was drafted by the Vancouver Warriors in the first round, ninth overall in the 2023 NLL Entry Draft and was later acquired in a trade by the Riggers in March 2025. The B.C. product suited up in five games for the club last season, posting an assist.

Laity is among a wave of young talent that is looking to put his stamp on the Roughnecks. Six games into this season and the young defender currently leads the team in blocked shots (8).

“Honestly, I’m really loving the team this year,” Laity said. “We got a young group of guys and you know, we’re five-to-six weeks into the season now we’re really starting to click.”

He explained, “I feel like my game’s at a good spot right now. I think there’s always room for improvement and I’m always trying to work on improving my game.”

And it hasn’t taken long for Laity to embrace Roughnecks lacrosse or the energy inside the Rough House at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

“It’s really been awesome to transition over here and the guys are great, the fans are awesome in the Saddledome,” he said. “Yeah. Everything’s been really good.”
