The Roughnecks closed out their homeandhome series while flexing their offensive muscles over the Firewolves, taking them down 14-7 in Oshawa. The Riggers defence held the Firewolves to one goal in the second half.

Riley Isaacs potted his first goal of the season and Tanner Cook led the way offensively with eight points and is leading the NLL in goals (47). Colby Bowman slammed the door shut in relief of Aden Walsh en route to the win.

Cook opened up the scoring 28 seconds into the game, firing a shot past Doug Jamieson. The Ontario native followed that up with another goal just 2:28 after his first to put the Riggers up a pair three minutes into the first.

Dawson Theede stopped the bleeding, scoring a power play goal for the Firewolves. That was the start of a four-goal run for Oshawa to take a 4-2 lead.

Tyler Pace got the offence going again for Calgary, sniping home his first of the night to cut the lead to one.

The first quarter ended with Oshawa scoring a buzzer beater to stretch the lead to two heading into the second quarter.

The Riggers capitalized on a powerplay goal from Pace in the second quarter. Oshawa responded a minute later to hold a 6-4 lead. Following the goal, Bowman came into the game in relief of Aden Walsh.

Calgary’s offence started humming and went on to score four unanswered goals, including a Justin Inacio rip through the wickets after winning the draw to turn the tables. Cook followed the goals up with his third of the game to take an 8-6 lead.

The Riggers outscored Oshawa 5-1 in the second quarter.

The momentum continued into the third when Isaacs picked up his first of the season off a rebound from Cook to extend the lead to three.

The Roughnecks defence held Oshawa’s offence scoreless through the third quarter.

Noah Manning opened the fourth quarter scoring off a sweet behind-the-back pass from Pace. Oshawa answered back with their first goal in 30 minutes to cut the lead to 10-7.

The Riggers offence was quick to get a pair of goals back from Mayea and Manning scoring their second of the game respectively to stretch the lead. Manning went on to score his third goal in the fourth quarter to make it 13-7.

Cook closed it out with an emptynetter.
