Setting The Scene:

The Riggers are storming the West Coast.

The Roughnecks (0-3) are hunting for their first win of the regular season when they hit the road to take on the San Diego Seals (1-1) Saturday night at Pechanga Arena at 8 p.m. on ESPNU, TSN+ and NLL+

The Riggers are coming off a 13-7 loss to the Bandits in Week 5 at the Scotiabank Saddledome that saw Tyler Pace lead the way with a five-point night (2G, 3A).

San Diego (1-1) enters the contest after a two-week hiatus that’ll have them itching to get back into game action. Their last performance was a 15-7 loss at the hands of the Rochester Knighthawks.

Pace heads into Week 6 leading the Riggers in points with 18 (5G, 13A) through three-games played. Captain Eli Salama is just two points shy of reaching 50 in his NLL career.

Head-To-Head:

The two teams only met once last season with the Seals winning 16-12. Former Roughneck Wesley Berg had an eight-point outing for the Seals in that contest. The last time the Roughnecks beat San Diego was Jan. 14, 2023 in a 14-10 win for the Riggers.

Players To Watch:

Roughnecks: F Tanner Cook: The 2020 fifth-overall pick has been consistent this season, scoring at least two goals in each of his three games. He’s tied for second on the team in points with 13 (6G, 7A). In last season’s tilt with the Seals, Cookie had a four-goal, seven-point performance and he will look to replicate that with a breakout performance in Week 6.

Seals: F Pat Kavanagh: The field lacrosse sensation is playing in just his third NLL game. He put up six points in his first game of this season against the Knighthawks in Week 3.
