CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks will begin preparations for the 2015 NLL season when training camp opens tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 28, with medicals.
The 33-player training camp roster will hit the turf for three sessions this weekend, beginning Saturday, Nov. 29 with two on-field practices starting at 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Foothills-Okotoks Regional Field House (125 Field House Drive East, Okotoks). ENG cameras are permitted during the Saturday morning session from 10:40 – 11:00 a.m. Media availability with head coach Curt Malawsky and the players will follow at 11:00 a.m. Training resumes with a closed practiced on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 8:00 a.m. in Okotoks.
Training camp will continue at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) in Oakville, Ontario, over the weekend of Dec. 5-7, with scrimmages scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 against the Toronto Rock at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7 versus the Minnesota Swarm at 12:00 p.m. Both scrimmages at TRAC will be open to the public with no charge for admission.
The roster will be trimmed to 20 players by Thursday, Dec. 18, before entering the Roughnecks Showcase Weekend on Dec. 20-21, featuring an exhibition game against the Edmonton Rush on Saturday, Dec. 20 (7:00 p.m., Scotiabank Saddledome). Camp will conclude with two on-field sessions over Dec. 27-28 at Genesis Centre in Calgary (10, 7555 Falconridge Blvd. NE). Due to limited seating availability at the Calgary and Okotoks practice facilities, all on-field sessions are closed to the public.
