The National Lacrosse League (NLL), the largest men’s professional indoor lacrosse league in North America, has appointed Dave Rowan to serve as its Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Rowan will partner with the NLL’s teams to enhance business operations across the league and grow individual team revenue. Additionally, he will assist the Commissioner with expansion opportunities, as well as establish grassroots programming in current and prospective markets.

“I am truly honored and excited to be joining the National Lacrosse League and to work with its growing roster of teams throughout North America,” said Rowan. “Lacrosse is not only an exciting game, but the fastest-growing sport at all levels – from grassroots, to schools, to universities, to the professional level. NLL games are a one-of-a-kind experience for the current fans, and I look forward to welcoming a new wave of audiences as we continue to expand.”

“Dave brings a wealth of team operations and business development experience,” said NLL Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz. “His focus on building our Team Services function and a grassroots business across North America is key to our growth strategy.”

Rowan has more than 30 years of experience in the sports, media and entertainment industries. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer of the Philadelphia Union, where he oversaw all business operations of the Major League Soccer franchise. Previously, he spent nearly seven years at CBS Sports, launching its Sports Radio Division operations in the Philadelphia market and overseeing rights deals with the city’s four major league sports teams. Throughout his career, he also held positions with the Philadelphia Phillies, Comcast Spectacor, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles.
