A strong fourth-quarter wasn’t enough as the Roughnecks fell 14-9 to the Toronto Rock on Friday night at the Rough House.
It was Toronto finding the back of the net first on Friday night as they picked up the first two goals of the game making it 2-0 just over four-minutes in.
Jesse King got the Roughnecks on the board early in the Riggers first powerplay of the night to make the score 2-1.
The Rock would score the next three to make the score 5-1 heading into the second-quarter.
Mathieu Gautier struck first in the second-quarter to make it 5-2.

The Rock would quickly counter making it 6-2.
Gautier found his second of the night from in tight to make it 6-3.
Toronto would counter with two of their own to send it to halftime 8-3.
The Rock continued to add to their lead in the second-half scoring the first three of the third-quarter to make the score 11-3.
King got his second of the night to make it 11-4 with 3:45 to go in the third.
Toronto would quickly counter with a far side shot to make it 12-4.
The Rock would add another before the quarter was up to take a 13-4 lead into the final frame.
Tyler Pace bounced one five-hole after exiting the penalty-box to make the score 13-5.
Curtis Dickson found the short-side on the powerplay to make it 13-6 with 8:41 to go in the game.
Jesse King added to the Roughnecks late run with his hat-trick goal to make the score 13-7.
After Toronto added another, Gautier picked up his hat-trick goal and then Dane Dobbie scored on the powerplay to make it 14-9.
That would be the final score.
