CALGARY, AB — The Calgary Roughnecks were dropping dimes last week in the Western Lacrosse Association.

Five Roughnecks combined for 18 assists on the week.

12-9 was a popular score for the Victoria Shamrocks, as they beat the Burnaby Lakers by that score and then felt the sting of defeat at the hands of the New Westminster Salmonbellies by the same margin.

While Greg Harnett did not suit up in either contest, Jon Harnett had himself a strong pair of games. The elder Harnett recorded an assist in each game.

Tyler Burton also enjoyed a strong set of games. The Shamrocks draw man netted a goal and three assists. Up front, Jeff Shattler was a key component of the Rocks offence. The veteran lefty netted only a single goal, but dished out six assists.

In his second game of 2016, Tyler Digby failed to find the back of the net but did manage to record a hat trick of assists. Unfortunately for the big man, those assists were not enough to help the Lakers against Victoria.

Roughnecks lefty Brandon Goodwin experienced an up and down week after first recording four assists and the game-winning goal against Victoria, then being held pointless in a win against the Nanaimo Timbermen.

Frankie Scigliano was stellar between the pipes against the Lakers, allowing only four goals on 40 shots.

Unfortunately Scigliano was still handed the loss, with the Maple Ridge Burrards offence only mustering up two goals against Zak Boychuk.
