CALGARY, AB — It wasn’t a busy week for members of the Calgary Roughnecks in the Western Lacrosse Association.

Only two Roughnecks players suited up for their respective teams last week.

Goaltender Frankie Scigliano was the most active, dressing for two games with the Maple Ridge Burrards.

In the Burrards first game of the week, Scigliano was saddled with the loss despite making 40 saves on 48 shots. The Burnaby Lakers were able to shut down the Maple Ridge offence and hold on for the 8-7 win.

In the week’s final contest, Scigliano did not face nearly as many shots as the previous game, but he gave up just as many goals. Fortunately, the Burrards offence stepped up and they won the game 9-8.

Scigliano is now in sole possession of first place in the WLA with five wins. Those five wins have been a big part of Maple Ridge securing first place in the league at this point in the season.

Tyler Digby made his WLA debut for the Lakers on June 18th.

With Burnaby down 2-0 early in the contest, the right-handed behemoth netted two quick goals, with one on the power play, to tie the game heading into the second period. His two goals in the game would not be enough for the Lakers and they would fall 8-7 to the Coquitlam Adanacs.
