Let’s get to know our newest forward, Jacob Dunbar!
Dunbar, 24, was drafted in the first round (13th overall) in 2021 by the San Diego Seals.
The B.C. product was recently acquired from the Ottawa Black Bears in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2026 NLL Entry Draft. The forward has a goal in two games with the Riggers.

Q: How did you get into lacrosse?
A: So my dad played, my brother played, all my brother’s friends played, and I was always a hockey and lacrosse kid. Then I had to make the decision, hockey or lacrosse, and I chose lacrosse because I just liked it more and I knew I wasn’t going to the NHL, and it kind of worked out.
Q: Occupation?
A: I work on a tugboat.
Q: Favourite athlete growing up?
A: Alexander Ovechkin.
Q: Morning person or night owl?
A: I’d say I’m more of a night owl.
Q: If you could be a pro in any other sport, what would it be?
A: Probably hockey or golf.
Q: Do you have any superstitions?
A: I like to make my bed before each game.

Q: What’s something people don’t know about you?
A: I love all boats. I love duck boats, wake boats, speed boats. I just love boats. I love how they glide through the water and everything like that.
Q: When you’re not playing lacrosse, what’s your biggest hobbies?
A: Dirt biking, golfing, boating, mountain biking, skiing.
Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: Professional athlete.
Q: Typical game day meal?
A: Normally it’s like a sandwich of some sort, but I just go wherever the team goes.
Q: Go-to Pre-game song?
A: I have a playlist that’s like super heavy metal rock that is not usually my genre, but that’s what I listen to before games.

A: Talladega Nights
Q: Dream vacation spot?
A: Not really, I just want to travel.

A: Dogs.

A: Burn it to the ground, Nickleback.
