SETTIN’ IT UP
It’s crunch time at the Rough House.
The Riggers look to bounce back from an 11-6 loss to the Bandits last weekend when they return to the Scotiabank Saddledome to finish off a two-game homestand.
Calgary welcomes in the San Diego Seals to the Rough House on Saturday at 7 p.m. (TSN+, NLL+, ESPN+) TICKETS
The Riggers (7-7) couldn’t get the sweep of the Bandits. After beating them on the road 17-11, Buffalo returned the favour with a road win of their own in front of 16,443 Roughnecks faithful last weekend. The Roughnecks currently sit in the eighth and final playoff spot in the NLL entering Week 17.
San Diego (7-6) enters the week having won three of their last four, including a 13-11 win over Vancouver last time out. The Seals sit one spot ahead of the Riggers heading into Saturday’s game.
Curtis Dickson is two points shy of 1,100 in his NLL career and should hit that mark at some point on Saturday. Nick Rose is six minutes shy of 11,000 as he continues to climb the ranks in that category.
Zach Currier will make his return to the Rough House on Saturday. He played his first six seasons in Calgary after being taken third overall in the 2017 draft. Currier is the team’s all-time leader in loose balls with 1,156.
This is the only regular-season matchup between Calgary and San Diego. The Seals won both of their head-to-heads last season by 12-9 and 7-6 scores.
Players To Watch
Roughnecks: F Curtis Dickson: Dickson leads the NLL with 39 goals despite not finding the back of the net last week against Buffalo. Look for him to be hungry this week.
Seals: F Wes Berg: Berg has also had a great year putting the ball in the net. He is currently fourth in the NLL with 35 goals.
