TORONTO – The Roughnecks fought hard in a back and forth game, but fell 11-10 in a thriller to the Toronto Rock.

The Riggers had strong performances from Noah Manning, who potted home his first career NLL hattrick, and Tanner Cook who finished the night with five points.

THE NUMBERS GAME:

Tyler Pace – 6 pts (6A)

Tanner Cook – 5 pts (2G, 3A)

Aden Walsh – 42/53 saves

Cook opened up the scoring just three minutes into the first quarter with a dart that got past Rose.

Manning followed that up with a beautiful shorthanded snipe for his third goal of the season for a two-goal lead.

Josh Dawick got the Rock on the board with a point shot that beat Walsh to cut the Riggers lead down.

Manning continued to show his offensive prowess just over 25 seconds later, as he rifled his second goal of the night towards the end of the first quarter to make it 3-1.

In the second quarter, Brayden Laity got his steps in when he scored a beauty in transition that beat Rose to extend the lead.

CJ Kirst tallied his first of the night and was followed up by Dawick to trim the lead down to 4-3 for the Riggers.

Riley Loewen scored his first of the season off a nice dish from Pace on the powerplay and Dickson got on the board to extend the lead to 6-3.

Boushy got one past Walsh to make it a 6-4 game at half. Toronto kept the momentum, opening the third quarter with a goal from Sam English to make it a one goal game.

Cook potted his second of the night, but Toronto traded goals when Owen Hiltz tucked in his first of the game to make it 7-6 Roughnecks.

Manning extended the lead by two when he scored his third goal of the night to give him his first career NLL hat-trick. It took the rookie just two games to complete the feat.

Toronto started an offensive onslaught in the fourth quarter, scoring four straight goals to take hold of the game at 10-8.

Loewen came in clutch to stop the bleeding with his second and third of the night to tie it up at 10.

Boushy responded immediately with his third of the game to close it out for Toronto.
