CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks today announced the National Lacrosse League club has acquired 30-year-old defenceman Creighton Reid from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2017 NLL Draft and second-round selection in 2019.

“Creighton is a smart, veteran player in the league and will bolster the left side of our defence and our transition game,” said general manager Mike Board. “He has good size, speed and strength, and will be a welcome part of our push towards the playoffs. He is a player we had asked about on several occasions and this time there was a fit. We are excited to have him in our line-up this weekend when we travel to Rochester.”

Reid, who was dealt from the Colorado Mammoth to Buffalo in an earlier trade deadline day transaction, is in his eighth NLL season. The native of Milton, Ontario, has spent time with Colorado and the Toronto Rock, recording 22 goals and 73 points along with 467 loose balls in 122 career games. He has 11 games of playoff experience, including two championship appearances, and in 2011 helped the Rock capture the league title.
