Bounce back time.
The Roughnecks look to get into the win column after a tough 14-13 loss on the road in Rochester last week to open the season.
There were some great individual efforts and guys that have gotten even closer to some major milestones as we move into Week 2. Let’s take a look at the numbers:
4-1
The Roughnecks were 4-1 last season following a loss. They outscored opponents 62-45 in those five games.
2
Harrison Matsuoka scored in the opening game for the second straight season. Matsuoka has four goals one game into his third NLL season with two of them being in season-opening games.
7
Captain Jesse King had seven points in the season-opening loss. It was a hot start offensively for King, who averaged 5.5 points per game last season.
9
Thomas Hoggarth led the Riggers in loose balls with nine in Week 1. A forward did not lead the team in loose balls at any point last season. His single season record for scoops is 90 with the Bandits in 2019 and he could shatter that if he keeps this pace up.
22
Zach Currier is 22 loose balls away from 1,000 in his career. He had six in Week 1 which would be on the low side of his average over the past few seasons. Look for a big game defensively from him against San Diego this week.
The Riggers look to right the ship at 8 p.m. MT Saturday night in San Diego. Catch the action on TSN+
