The Calgary Roughnecks today announced they have re-signed 29-year-old defenceman and alternate captain Dan MacRae to a new two-year contract.

“As a veteran, Dan is a big part of our defence and transition game,” said Roughnecks General Manager Mike Board. “He can play in all situations – on the penalty-kill, the ball team as well as five-on-five. He has also developed into an excellent leader. He is committed to the organization and we are very pleased to have been able to sign him to a two-year deal. We look forward to Dan continuing his strong play and mentorship of the young defenders we have on our roster.”

MacRae is entering his eighth season in the National Lacrosse League, all with the Roughnecks. He joined the franchise in the 2010 NLL Entry draft after being selected by Calgary in the first round, sixth overall.
