The Calgary Roughnecks today announced the National Lacrosse League club has acquired the 15th overall pick in the 2021 Entry Draft from the Panther City Lacrosse Club in exchange for defenders Chad Cummings and Anthony Kalinich.

Cummings, 30, a Caledon, Ontario product was chosen in the fourth round (36th overall) in the 2012 draft.  Kalinich, 22, a Maple Ridge, B.C., product was selected in the second round (21st overall) in the 2017 draft. Both players are eligible to become restricted free agents on August 1.

“We want to thank Chad and Anthony for their contributions during their time with the Roughnecks and wish them success moving forward in their careers,” said Roughnecks General Manager Mike Board.

“Trades are tough, particularly with pending free agents. We are pleased to be able to acquire the 15th pick in the draft as we continue to shape our team for the present and for the future. We’re excited to have three picks in the top 22 in the upcoming entry draft.”
