Hear what the Roughnecks had to say following their overtime victory over Georgia.

Josh Sanderson on the vibe on the floor throughout the night:

“To be honest, it felt like a playoff game out there. I thought it might have been; they were coming off two tough losses, we were coming off a couple, so we knew both teams were probably going to be really hungry tonight and that was the case. Both goalies were really, really good and obviously we just got one on the last shot, it was a pretty even game.”

On Jesse King:

“Great for us to get a win in (Jesse’s) 100th game. Games played is a big deal in this league, to me anyway, and to a lot of guys. For him to get 100 games, for us to win in overtime, he got a couple goals early, too, so that should help with his confidence. Everyone there is happy.”

On Dobbie with another late run:

“It’s his compete level. He wills us into not letting our guard down and he was fired up. It was playoff intensity on our bench, he had some big goals for us and I can’t say enough good things about Dane and a lot of our guys just the way they are battling. I thought we had a really goodeffort in (Philadelphia) last week that didn’t get rewarded with and tonight it was just nice to get that overtime winner.”

Jesse King on the importance of the win:

“It’s a big momentum shift for us. We’re going into a big stretch of games. I think it’s always important to enjoy the wins especially in this league with dropping a team last year the league is as good as it will ever be. Georgia showed it, they came in, they played a hard fast game with a really talented offence just like us. To get our first win at home is really motivating.”

On his 100th game being one he will remember:

“Any time you can win a game at home in overtime is something you are going to remember. Whether it be 100th or 50th whatever it may be. I’m just thankful for the majority of those games to be here in Calgary in front of amazing fans.”

Haiden Dickson on his overtime winner:

“I set a pick for (Curtis Dickson) there and then slid, (Tanner Cook) got me the ball and I just saw the lane and took the shot. I had a couple chances (earlier in overtime) those ones didn’t go in unfortunately, but the last one that matters went in.”
