Calgary, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks today announced the National Lacrosse League club has acquired Dan Taylor from the Toronto Rock in exchange for forward Johnny Powless. Calgary briefly acquired Powless from the New England Black Wolves in exchange for a second round selection in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft and a fourth round selection in 2020.

“We are pleased to be able to add Dan to our offence,” said Roughnecks general manager Mike Board. “He is a player that brings size, skill and athleticism to the roster and we have had our eyes on for a while. We feel he has a lot of upside and look forward to having him in the Roughnecks fold moving forward.”

Taylor, a native of Calgary, Alberta, returns home after completing his fourth NLL season, playing three games with Toronto and a single game with the Saskatchewan Rush. The 25-year-old was originally selected by Saskatchewan in the second round, 12th overall, in the 2015 Entry Draft and won an NLL championship with the Rush in 2016. Taylor recorded 36 points in 16 regular season games during his three seasons with the Rush.

Roughnecks 2018-19 season tickets are now available for as low as $31/seat for adults and $23/seat for children and students (excludes applicable fees). Visit Ticketmaster or the Scotiabank Saddledome box office to join the Rough House party. Fans can also secure a seat online at CalgaryRoughnecks.com or by calling 1-855-985-5000.
