Is this the year for Roughnecks star Zach Currier to run away with the NLL’s Transition Player of the Year title?
We sure hope so.
The NLL has revealed its nominees for the 2019-20 season awards and Currier has made the list once again.
Currier is one of three players vying for Transition Player of the Year honours following another stellar campaign. The Peterborough, Ont., product tallied three goals and 12 assists, scooped an impressive 108 loose balls, and caused 15 turnovers in 10 games during the shortened season.
This is the third consecutive season Currier has been up for an award, but has yet to win. Following the 2017-18 campaign he was nominated for Rookie of the Year, and in 2018-19 Currier was a finalist for Transition Player of the Year.
The two other players vying for Transition Player of the Year are Challen Rogers of the Toronto Rock, and Kiel Matisz of the Philadelphia Wings.
Award winners will be announced June 30.
