The Chromeback was almost complete.

But in the end, Eli Salama and Jesse King’s Chrome fell to 2-1 in Premier Lacrosse League Championship Series group play following a nail-biting 13-12 overtime loss to the Archers Thursday night.

Down 8-3 at halftime, the Chrome would come out hot in the third tying it up at 9. After a back-and-forth battle in the final frame the game would head to overtime. The Archers’ Ryan Ambler would score the game-winner less than a minute into OT.

Prior to the loss the Chrome were undefeated after edging the Redwoods 12-11 on Tuesday. Both Salama and King had impressive outings in that tilt, with Salama recording a 2-point strike on the night and King tallying two goals – including the game-winner.

Elsewhere in the league, Curtis Dickson and Tyson Bell’s Chaos remain winless. They sit at 0-2 following an 8-7 loss to the Redwoods Wednesday. Dickson managed one goal and two helpers in that tilt.

As for Zach Currier, his Waterdogs also remain winless in the series, sitting sixth-overall in group play after a 9-7 loss to the Archers Tuesday. Currier did not see game action after entering Brain Health Protocol on Monday. It remains unclear when he will return to play.
