Calgary, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks today announced TD Bank Group (TD) as the proud partner of the Roughnecks beginning with the 2021-22 season.  TD and the Roughnecks will work together throughout the season to celebrate the history and culture of our local Indigenous communities, starting with the Home Opener presented by TD on December 17th.

As Title Sponsor of opening night, TD will present a special half-time show that will give the stage to multiple Indigenous artists and further TD’s commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation. Renowned performer Dallas Arcand will be featured, and a special live painting will be created by artist Keegan Starlight during the game. Fans will be able to bid on this piece of art, with proceeds being directed to the Moss Bag Project, supporting health and education in Indigenous communities.

In a further effort to grow the game, TD will host youth groups from local First Nation communities, including Tsuut’ina and Siksika Nations, as VIP guests at every Roughnecks home game this season.

The Calgary Roughnecks will wear the TD logo on their home jerseys, and their helmets, for the 2021-22 Season.

“This is a very significant partnership for our team,” said VP and Governor of the Roughnecks Mike Moore. “We are excited to welcome TD to the Roughhouse and we are extremely thankful for their commitment to promoting inclusion within the lacrosse community and local Indigenous communities. We are thrilled that they will be a partner for this and upcoming seasons with the Calgary Roughnecks.”

“We’re equally excited about our new partnership with the Roughnecks,” said Robert Ghazal, TD senior vice president for branch banking in the Prairie Region. “TD holds relationships with sports teams across Canada, because we believe that when people come together in their community, then good things do happen. It’s important that our partnership with the Roughnecks extends beyond the games and includes opportunities to share the sport’s origin and to collaborate with local Indigenous communities from Calgary and the surrounding area throughout the season.”
