Calgary, AB – The Calgary Roughnecks Lacrosse Club has unveiled a limited edition Star Wars-themed jersey that depicts the ice planet Hoth which played stage to a historic confrontation between the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance in the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back. The one-of-a-kind jersey, featuring Luke Skywalker riding a tauntaun on both the front and back, will make its one and only appearance of the 2017 National Lacrosse League season this Saturday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m., when the Colorado Mammoth visit the Scotiabank Saddledome for a Star Wars Party, benefitting STARS Air Ambulance.

The Star Wars Party Roughnecks jerseys are now up for bid at ElevateAuctions.com, with all proceeds directed to STARS in support of its commitment to providing a safe, rapid, highly specialized emergency medical transport system for the critically ill and injured. The online auction will close at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12.

Crescent Point Energy is adding to the funds raised for STARS with a $2 donation for each Star Wars Party ticket sold, providing up to a total of $5,000 to the cause.

Fans attending the Star Wars Party are encouraged to arrive in costume and remain seated during halftime for a special presentation.

In addition, Saturday’s game will recognize Calgary and area first responders along with Canadian Armed Forces, Alberta Sheriffs, Alberta Correctional Services, Alberta Health Services and Calgary 911 through a special $15 ticket offer (plus applicable fees), available for purchase by calling 403-777-4646.
