We just may have another American revolution on our hands.

The work of Tom Schreiber in Toronto is grabbing headlines, especially after his second straight hat trick. For Colorado, Brent Adams not only scored his first National Lacrosse League goal, he scored 3 with the winner coming in overtime. Brendan Fowler is holding his own at the faceoff dot, and Kieran McArdle was back in the Toronto lineup providing solid depth at his position.

We’re 7 weeks into the 2017 season, so these are not fluke performances. It’s exciting news to see players from south of the border not just be part of the league, but staking their claims as rising stars. As the league looks forward to expansion, the NLL brass can only be super stoked to see what’s happening with the American skill set.

So now, let’s take a closer look at how the rookies fared in Week 7 of NLL action.

Tom Schreiber (Toronto): The right-hander out of East Meadow, N.Y., is making it look easy. He had 3 goals and 3 assists in Sunday’s road win over Calgary, his second straight hat trick. Throw in 4 loose balls and you understand why Toronto’s leading scorer (9-20, 29 points) is getting Tweets of praise – from opponents.

Kyle Jackson (Rochester): The left-hander out of Sarnia scored a pair of goals and assisted on another in Rochester’s home loss to Saskatchewan. He also scooped 5 loose balls and continues to lead the team in scoring with 23 points (8-15).

Josh Currier (Rochester): The right-hander out of Peterborough scored a season-high 4 goals, on just 7 shots, in Saturday’s home loss to Saskatchewan. His 10 goals for the season is tops for Rochester.

Ryan Keenan (Saskatchewan): The left-hander out of Oshawa had his third straight game with 0 goals but he was still pretty effective in Saturday’s road win against Rochester. He scooped a season-high 6 loose balls and caused 1 turnover.

Holden Cattoni (Calgary): The lefty out of Calgary was scoreless on 4 shots and scooped 1 loose ball in Calgary’s home loss to Toronto on Sunday.

Kieran McArdle (Toronto): After missing last weekend, the left-hander out of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., was back at it for Sunday’s road win over Calgary, contributing 2 goals 1 assist and 4 loose balls.

Dan Lomas (Rochester): The lefty-out of Burlington was without a goal for the second time in 3 games but did have 3 loose balls in Saturday’s home loss to Saskatchewan.

Mike Messenger (Saskatchewan): The right-handed defender out of Surrey scored his first goal in Saturday’s road win against Rochester. It was his first goal since the season opener against Toronto and he also threw down the mitts for the first time in his NLL career, with Rochester’s John Rae.

Latrell Harris (Toronto): The right-hander out of St. Catharines had 1 goal, 1 assist, 1 loose ball and 2 caused turnovers in Sunday’s road win at Calgary. His numbers probably aren’t going to sparkle much in any one category, but his all-around game and versatility is making him a must-have component for success in Toronto.

Jacob Ruest (Colorado): The right-hander out of Cornwall had 1 goal and scooped 3 loose balls in Sunday’s road win at Vancouver. He has scored at least 1 goal in 4 of his 5 games this season
